Join us for this FREE workshop featuring Michael Sarin of the Michael Sarin Quintet who will be performing later that evening at 7:30pm.

The Michael Sarin Quintet makes it debut performance at the Portland Conservatory of Music as part of its long running Dimensions in Jazz concert series, curated by Portland’s eminent presenter of jazz and improvised music, Paul Lichter. It will be Sarin’s first time presenting his own music and ensemble after performing at the series many times with others.

Drawing upon Sarin’s vast experience at the drum set in a wide swath of jazz and improvised music, his original compositions for the quintet reflect and refract a bounty of influences and experiences in his musical life. The music is written for the specific members of the group, comprised of true luminaries who have shared the bandstand with Sarin for many years, in all parts of the world.
